POMBO FIGURE / KISSI

Funeral Figure  thought to be carved by the Kissi people and  Utilized by other tribes,to perform the sacred function of acting as an intermediary with the sacred ancestors. Wrapped carefully in cloth and placed deep inside ceremonial vessels. Consistant with others found during the 13th to 18th Century although this unique carving has yet to be carbon dated.
